The objective of Mice and Men dice game is to score least penalty points to win. The game is played with 3 six-sided dice.

Setup:
3 six-sided dice and a dice cup for each player
Mice and Men Dice Game Play:
All players roll their dice at the beginning of each round and look at their numbers and then hide using their dice cup. Their calculated score to play for the round is the maximum 3-digit number which is possible using their 3 dice numbers. For ex. if player rolled 1, 5, 6 then player would be playing with a score of 651.
A player is then chosen to go first who would announce penalty points for that round which should be greater than zero. Players can predetermine a range of penalty numbers to start with (for example between 0 to 10).
After the first player announces penalty points for the current round, rest of the players go clockwise and have following options to choose
- Run with the mice – means that the player declares himself/herself out of the round. Player also reveals his/her three dice and takes three penalty points.
- Join the men – means that the player declares himself/herself still in the round. By choosing this option, the player agrees to the current penalty points value.
- Lead the men – means that the player declares himself/herself still in the round. When choosing this option, the player needs to announce new penalty points for the current round. New penalty points must be higher than the previous one.
The round goes on until all players have chosen either of the first two options which is Run with the mice and Join the men and there is no one left with Lead the men option. At this point all players who chose Join the men option reveal their dice. The player with lowest calculated score then takes the last announced penalty points.
If at any stage in the round only one player remains then round automatically finishes and player does not have to take any penalty point and also does not need to reveal his/her dice.
Mice and Men dice game is played for predetermined set of rounds. The player with least penalty points after completion of all rounds wins the game.
