The aim of Whitehead Solitaire is to build all four suits up from ace to king.
Player is first dealt 28 cards face-up into 7 piles as following:
The first pile (left to right) includes one card, the second pile includes two cards, the third pile includes three cards, etc., so that the last pile has seven cards.
The remaining cards are set aside, forming a draw pile, the top card of which can be played to the tableau or to the foundations. When the draw pile is out of cards, the player can reset the draw pile and continue.
As they become available, the four aces must be played above the tableau; these are the four foundations. Cards of the same suit may be played on each ace in ascending order, from low (2) to high (king).
On the tableau, cards are played in descending order by same color.
Same suit sequence of cards can be moved as a single unit.
An empty tableau can be filled with any card or sequence.
